it's the podolski show. i thought maybe he could have gotten the first hattrick of the world cup. but i have got to admit, klose is really a much better forward now. the second goal was really very clever. he brought 3 defenders away to give podolski all the space he needed to wrongfoot the keeper. i am quite impressed by him, but glad that podolski got the goals.

i almost believed that mexico could have pulled it off. i was hoping before the game that they would send argentina out. i know that they werent that bad, as pple like made them out to be after the goalless draw wif angola and the defeat to portugal. they are a technical team. technical teams are always difficult to play because they can be so fluid. in fact, they matched argentina yesterday. at least the second half, because i overslept. woke up just in time for the second half. and the commentator was saying something like argentina not finding it as easy as they would have liked it to be. anyway until the 98th minute, i always thought that mexico would grab the winner. not that they were dominating argentina, but they were as dangerous, if not even more. but after rodrigues got that goal, the mexicans' belief evaporated. you could see the passes going stray. they were really fluid prior to that. i think they were playing something like 4-2-3-1. but in attack, they always have men on the flanks and behind the strikers. the moment of the game for me was when gonzalo pineda nutmegged cambiasso and fired in a cross which was headed wide. imagine argentina being nutmegged.
messi didnt really impress. he's fast, agile and all that. but i think he still lack match fitness. i am not about to doubt his talent, though i have really yet to see why maradona raves about him.
and i think argentina are really overrated. the 6-0 victory really made them look very good. but yesterday, they could have lost. if people think they are going to steamroller through the rest, think twice, because mexico gave them trouble. wad abt spain and brazil?
think twice before u think argentina can go all the way. because i dun think they will.
but for now, i am praying that ecuador will kick england out of the world cup.
