not barcelona

barcelona are a funny team. they arent as world class on paper as they seem. especially in defence. my first impression when i tink of barcelona is an invincible team. haven't they strolled tru to win la liga last season? and the champs league as well? with quite stylish football too.

but when you tink abt it, they shuldnt be that intimidating.

in fact, no team is. not even the old real madrid. and it is always the defence that is the problem.

in any case, real madrid has indeed considerably strengthened their defence this season.

phil ball says only valencia and real madrid can catch barcelona.

the european super cup saw sevilla beat barca 3-0. that with ronaldinho's lacklustre performance in the world cup, i have this feeling that barca wun run away with it this season. even with the signing of zambrotta and thuram. maybe ronaldinho will continue to suffer the blues of the world cup.

back in england, spurs lost again. quite stunning.

but despite being an arsenal fan, i am not quite caught up in the spurs-arsenal rivalry. perhaps it's because the real competitors are still liverpool, chelsea and man utd. no doubt spurs are on the ascendancy, no doubt they pushed us all the way last season, but i dun derive as much pleasure from their defeat than say chelsea's for example. the feeling is more of...being amused. after all, they did spend alot, so i was kind of expecting a really really strong team. not a team which loses 2 out of 3 games.

but we arent doing any better ourselves.
