rivalry

i have a question.

why do people hate arsenal?

i have thought alot about it.

i can't come up with any convincing reason.

so why don't you tell me?

***

do we understand the great rivalries?

we who live so far away, who were not even born when the great rivalry took seed. do we understand? do we need to embrace it in order to call ourselves true supporters? do we make ourselves believe we hate the great rival? do we truly understand what it is all about? if we don't believe it, does it make us any less loyal?

as an ajax fan, i don't really hate feyenoord. i don't hate psv either.

as an arsenal fan, i don't hate spurs.

maybe it's because i believe that we just have to concentrate on our own football.

let football do the talking.

if our great rivals play us and play better than us, i think i can accept and give them the credit.
because i think i know great football when i see it.

and you know me, i think i am very quick to criticise my own team. just observe me when i watch alone, not with people. so i think i am not that biased.

except when it comes to chelsea.

so i don't really know what's with all that hatred, especially when we are certainly very capable of playing great football.

don't hate for the sake of hating. arsenal is not about hating spurs, but about our own brand of football.
