timeless bakery in botinche

“A piping hot bun is one of the best ways to warm your heart in the cold. I have been baking them here for the past fifty years or so. At this very same spot. Fifty years, my shop has stood at this very spot in Botinche. I have seen people come and go. That high school round the corner, a few of their teachers, they were such little kids back then. I watched them grow up to become responsible adults of society. They were so small then, that time when they came to buy buns after school. Now, they still come, but they are so much bigger. And their students come to. And their parents too, when they were teenagers themselves. Now, mostly the mothers would come and buy for the whole family. It’s like a cycle. The cycle of life. That’s one of the beauty of setting up a shop. You see everything, you see the world revolve. Day to night, kids to adults, the passing of seasons. Time just passes. Everything changes rapidly, except this old bakery.

I am old.”
