i once used australia as a metaphor. and maybe bits of it are coming true.

australia was a decent team playing in oceania. take it out of oceania, put it in asia, where there is stiffer competition, a different style of play, and they seem to suffer, despite their overwhelming promise.

we can give a lot of reasons, like the weather. but i am not really interested in trying to explain australia's dismal performance thus far at the asian cup.

i am just interested in using australia as my analogy. how a certain group of people, who could have been decent initially, can suffer if u take them out of their league.
