mata aimashou

watching the last25 minutes of man city v newcastle, it suddenly struck me that emre belozoglu was playing. and in that 25 minutes which was largely dominated by man city, watching newcastle and emre play, i felt a tinge of sadness.

no doubt newcastle snapped into life in the last 5 minutes, and had a superb move in the 88th minute instigated by emre, one that is almost as good as arsenal's, but the fact remained that newcastle were outplayed.

and the fact remained that emre belozoglu, the prince of turkish football, is reduced to such a state. i am not trying to put newcastle down; i have watched goal the movie and saw in it the pride the tyneside has in their team, and they certainly have history and tradition, but i think they have become a graveyard for footballers. luque, owen, emre, to a lesser extent parker.

all players capable of much more. especially emre. why is he there? he should be playing in europe, with the very best.

so should trabelsi. he would be welcomed in arsenal. i am sure.

there's this song by seamo, called mata aimashou. let's meet again.

it may not sound very sad. but the lyrics are very sad. the sadness is hidden within. here is someone keeping up a brave front. but in actual fact, he is crying within himself.

he is crying within.
