Almost Perfect
We have the lineup out for you. Ajax makes three changes to the team that won in Utrecht on Sunday. Klompe in goal, Michele and de Bruijn in central defence. Van Kijns on the right. And here’s the change: Ferronomo in place of Santiago Sarossa on the left. Battaglia returns in place of Koovens to form a midfield trio with captain Flannen and Tokiwa. Kafka, Sofronie and Thiers start upfront. So Yusuf is on the bench today.
Foul on van Kijns. Battaglia releases the ball immediately. Sofronie! Sofronie…GOAL!
Liverpool are protesting. But I don’t know what they are protesting about.

Sofronie will come off for Imre Szekely. It’s a standing ovation. Huysegem says he is the complete forward. And I think we have seen that today.
Battaglia to Flannen. Picks up the return. Shapes to shoot…oh what a goal! What class!
Absolutely. He looked as though he was going to shoot, the legs of Weissbach came in, he touches the ball to his right foot, and just chips the ball in. The keeper never saw that coming. Master-class.

Huysegem will now bring off Thiers for Debuchy and Battaglia for Koovens.
And the whistle goes. I think Liverpool would be relieved to hear that. They certainly didn’t expect to lose like this. But Ajax, were simply total.
