i don't know what really happened. they have something of a chivugate over in rome. some unhappiness regarding chivu's future at roma, because of his desire to join inter, apparently. of course, people are calling him mercenary.

frankly speaking, my memory of him stopped at his move to roma. i don't really know how well he is faring. he should be doing well, considering that he is being linked to real, inter, barca.

i only remember him as captain of ajax in that unforgettable run to within a minute of a place in the champions' league semi-final. and of course i remember his words, when he left.

i hope i will always be welcome here.

and of course in an interview 2 years later, he would describe describe his return:

they are in my heart, and now i know for sure i am in their heart.

and to describe ajax:

it's love always. love always.

that's why he is loved. you might say i am naive for believing in stuff like this, especially given his current rep of being mercenary. but it's good to be naive sometimes. because it keeps things alive.

every day you live, you have to learn something and live it to the end.
i learn that in life you don't have to make promises.
